We beg to approach you in the following matter :-
In June and July 1914 we forwarded for aceount of
Hocers. F. Rosenstern & Co. in Hamburg, 34 bales of Cotton
goods of British manufacture, to Mesars, Hughes Alexander & Co. in Liverpool, who shipped the same for account of and
according to instructions received from Messrs. F.Rosenstern
& Co. to Messrs, Melchers & Co. in HongKong, to be forwarded from there to various places in the South Sea Aistricts which
Messrs. Melchers were formerly in the possession of Germany,
& 00. have been only acting as forwarding agents in this
instance and we do not know them in the matter in any other way
except that they were the forwarding agents for Messrs. I.
Resenstern & Co. We invoiced the goods as follows :-
